The crazed and self-righteous cop-hate of most of the previous posters makes you aware of what police have to deal with on a daily basis. These Critical Mass events are plainly and deliberately illegal, and as a cyclist I get a bit pissed whenever I read an article that presents them in glowing fellow-traveler terms. CM is a deliberately polarizing movement aimed at fostering an us-versus-them mentality, and it obviously works, but only at making people hate each other. Be proud, bikers!
